2023 SAM Air Cessna Grand Caravan crash
On 23 June 2023, a Cessna 208 Caravan 675[2] operated by Semuwa Aviasi Mandiri (SAM Air) carrying four passengers and two crew crashed at 10.53 WIT in Yalimo Regency, Highland Papua, Indonesia.[3]

Accident
The plane involved in the accident was a Cessna 208 Caravan 675, registered PK-SMW, flying to Poik Airfield, Highland Papua.[3] It departed from Elelim Airport in Yalimo Regency, at approximately 10:53 a.m. local time. According to an Indonesian Ministry of Transportation spokesman, eight minutes after takeoff the plane lost contact.[3]
The accident occurred approximately 12 km from Elelim Airport.[2]
