Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda

Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda (usein pelkästään Andromeda) on kanadalainen scifi-televisiosarja, joka perustuu Gene Roddenberryn 1960–1970-luvuilla kehittämään materiaaliin, jonka Robert Hewitt Wolfe toimitti.^lähde? Roddenberryn leski Majel Barrett-Roddenberry tuotti sarjan.^lähde? Sarjaa tehtiin 110 jaksoa vuosina 2000–2005. Pääosassa oli Kevin Sorbo (muun muassa televisiosarja Hercules), joka esitti kaartinkapteeni Dylan Huntia.

Juoni

Sarjan alussa kolmea galaksia hallitsee Tarn-Vedralta käsin All Systems Commonwealth. Kuitenkin yksi Commonwealthin jäsenlajeista, geneettisesti parannellut yli-ihmiset nimeltä nietzscheans päättää valloittaa ja tuhota valtakunnan. Commonwealthin lippulaiva Andromeda Ascendantin kapteeni Dylan Hunt jää nietzscheanien alusten ja oman miehistönsä kapinan yllättämäksi. Alus putoaa kohti mustan aukon tapahtumahorisonttia.

Yli 300 vuotta myöhemmin normaaliaikaa pelastusalus Eureka Maru nostaa hylyn tapahtumahorisontista, jonka jälkeen kapteeni Dylan Hunt päättää koota uudelleen hajonneen Commonwealthin.
