Paus Urbanus VII ( Latin: Urbanus VIIcode: la is deprecated  ; Itali: Urbano VIIcode: it is deprecated  ; 4 Ogos 1521 - 27 September 1590), dilahirkan Giovanni Battista Castagna, adalah ketua Gereja Katolik, dan pemerintah Negara Paus dari 15 hingga 27 September 1590. Kepausan selama tiga belas hari, beliau adalah yang paling singkat dalam sejarah.

Kematian

Urbanus VII meninggal dunia di Rom pada 27 September 1590, sejurus sebelum tengah malam, akibat malaria . Dia telah memerintah selama 13 hari, Pemerintahan kepausan tersingkat dalam sejarah kepausan. Dia dikebumikan di Vatikan. Liturgi pengebumian disampaikan oleh Pompeo Ugonio . Jenazahnya kemudiannya dipindahkan ke gereja Santa Maria sopra Minerva, pada 21 September 1606.

Harta pusakanya, bernilai 30,000 scudi, telah diwariskan kepada Archconfraternity of the Annunciation, untuk digunakan sebagai mas kahwin untuk gadis muda yang miskin.
