Agalloch var et atmosfærisk progressiv/folk metal-band fra Oregon i USA. Bandet ble startet i 1995, og gav ut debutalbumet Pale Folklore i 1999. Siden har Agalloch gitt ut tre studioalbum til, hvor det seneste, Marrow of the Spirit, kom i 2010. Ulver, Katatonia og The 3rd and the Mortal har ifølge bassist Jason William Walton vært inspirasjon.^[1]

Siste album The Serpent & the Sphere, single og splitt (2013–2016)

Agaloch kunngjorde 13. oktober 2013 arbeid med nytt album.^{[trenger referanse]}

Agaloch kunngjorde 31. januar 2014 at albumet The Serpent & the Sphere skulle slippes på Profound Lore 13. mai.^{[trenger referanse]}

The Serpent & the Sphere ble sluppet i USA 13. mai, i Tyskland 16. mai, og i resten av Europa 19. mai. Albumet gjester Nathanaël Larochette på akustisk gitar.^{[trenger referanse]}

Agalloch, sammen med Nathanaël Larochette, slapp også sporet «Alpha Serpentis (Unukalhai)» som en 7" vinylsingel (350 kopier) på Licht von Dämmerung Arthouse 16. mai.^[2]

Splitt

13. mai 2016 kunngjorde Agalloch på Facebook at bandet var oppløst^[3].

Following 20 years, 5 full length albums, many tours around the world, and numerous other recordings, John Haughm and the rest of the band (Don Anderson, Jason Walton, and Aesop Dekker) have parted ways. What the future holds for the separate parties remains undetermined. We collectively thank all of our fans across the world. There are also way too many other people to thank who made this band possible. You know who you are.
