1933 Cavalcade

Frank Lloyd (Glasgow, 2. februar 1886 - Santa Monica, 10. august 1960) bio je britansko-američki filmski režiser, scenarist i producent poznat kao jedan od osnivača i predsjednik losanđeleske Filmske akademije.

Odrastao je u porodici škotskog pjevača u music hallovima i u mladosti se u domovini bavio glumom. Godine 1910. je emigrirao u Kanadu odakle ga je godine 1913. Carl Laemmle angažirao glumca u svom filmskom studiju Universal Pictures. Lloyd se brzo preorijentirao na režiju, te je u nijemoj eri stekao priličan ugled adaptacijama književnih klasika, od kojih se ističe Oliver Twist iz 1922. godine.

Godine 1930. je bio nominiran za Oscara za čak tri filma, te osvojio za nijemi film The Divine Lady. Tri godine kasnije ga je osvojio za Cavalcade. Godine 1945. se formalno povukao s filma, iako je deset godina kasnije snimio historijski film The Last Command.
